Isabella “Isa” Borgeson (she/they) is a queer, mixed race, Filipina and white community organizer from Oakland. Isa joined the Stop San Quentin Outbreak coalition in 2020, calling for large-scale releases in response to COVID-19 outbreaks across California state prisons. In 2021, she was selected as Ella Baker Center’s inaugural Outside Fellow for their Inside/Outside Policy Fellowship program, which supports systems-impacted organizers through hands-on legislative training.
As EBC’s Campaign Manager, Isa now manages the I/O fellowship, while working on people-powered legislative campaigns and advocating for decarceration. They are a member of Critical Resistance Oakland chapter and a 2023 Criminal Justice Fellow with the Solís Policy Institute (SPI).
