Van is a co-founder of four successful non-profit organizations: the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Color of Change, Green For All, and Rebuild the Dream, a platform for bottom-up, people-powered innovations to help fix the U.S. economy.
In 2009, Van worked as the green jobs advisor to the
Obama White House. There, he helped run the inter-agency process that
oversaw $80 billion in green energy recovery spending.
A proud native of Jackson, Tennessee, Van Jones, champions some of the most hopeful solutions to America's toughest challenges.
In addition to co-founding the Ella Baker Center, Van also served as its Executive Director for over ten years. He currently serves on our Board of Directors.
