Candace Chavez-Wilson is the HR/Operations Manager with the Ella Baker Center. She is also an organizer and volunteers her time at the office of F.U.E.L./Fair Chance Project. In the years that she has served F.U.E.L., she has helped lobby and advocate for the end of LWOP sentencing. She is a member of CCWP, an Essie Justice Sister, an Outside Organizer with Initiate Justice’s “Institute of Impacted Leaders”, and was the Operations Fellow for Initiate Justice. She holds her BA from CSUF. In 2018, her husband was granted a commutation of his LWOP sentence by Governor Brown, he was found suitable and granted parole at his first hearing and is now home.
