Terence Anthony Long is the Communications Director of the Ella Baker Center. Prior to joining the organization, Terence worked to amplify the voices of working people and communities of color on numerous campaigns for labor organizations, non-profits and arts-based groups in Los Angeles. He started his career at the Service Employees International Union as an organizer on the historic campaign to win union rights for majority African American security officers in South Los Angeles. Terence has over a decade of experience working as a communications specialist with SEIU, the Writers Guild of America, West, the Fight for $15, the Center for Popular Democracy and the National Black Workers Center. He has developed communications and public affairs strategies for campaigns connected to security officers, screenwriters, fast food workers, healthcare workers, childcare providers, adjunct professors and undocumented youth.
Terence is also a playwright, and when not writing he enjoys exploring his new hometown Oakland.
