A fierce advocate for collective action and empowering those who feel powerless, Seth Bramble’s passions are grounded in the labor movement and centered around education policy that meets the needs of California’s diverse student population. At the University of California at Santa Cruz, Seth received his Bachelor’s Degree in American Studies and developed his passion for activism and social justice. Aside from volunteering in the Probation Department of Santa Cruz County’s New Vistas in Juvenile Justice Program, he received recognition for his efforts with ethnic student organizations and bringing attention to the relationship between funding for education and incarceration. Seth holds a Master’s Degree in Education from San Jose State University, with emphasis on curriculum and instruction.  

Raised in Berkeley, Seth taught 6th grade in traditional public schools for 5+ years in San Jose, California. He was hired as a Human Rights Consultant in the greater Los Angeles area for the California Teachers Association in 2006, where he served as a resource for staff and more than 300,000 members (school teachers, school nurses, school counselors, school librarians, etc.) on issues related to human and civil rights. Later serving as Executive Director of the Sacramento City Teachers Association, Seth advanced their political action, communications, and professional development programs. Currently, Seth works as a legislative advocate for the California Teachers Association, committed to improving the conditions of teaching and learning. Outside of his paid work, Seth spends his time playing with his family in nature.
