Jocelyn Wong

Restore Oakland Campaign Director

Jocelyn is leading a $16M fundraising campaign to support the success of Restore Oakland, a community advocacy and training center opening in Oakland's Fruitvale neighborhood in early 2019. Restore Oakland is a joint initiative of the Ella Baker Center and Restaurant Opportunities Centers United.

Informed by prior experience in organizing and direct service, Jocelyn’s approach to development work is that it is but one of the many forms of collaboration necessary to strengthen the organization and the broader movements of which we are a part.

Previously, Jocelyn served as the Ella Baker Center's Director of Development, helping to fortify and grow the organization from 2015-2017. Prior, Jocelyn was the Director of Foundation Support at the ACLU of Northern California, where she supported program leaders in planning and evaluation, and developed funding proposals and reports for foundation partners and major donors. Jocelyn’s past experience also includes developing partnerships and securing resources for organizations serving youth, families, and queer communities.

She found her calling as an activist and writer while studying Political Science and LGBT Studies at the University of California, Riverside. In her spare time, Jocelyn enjoys backyard projects, discovering new music, and watching football.
