OAKLAND, CA--- Oakland's Mayor-elect Jean Quan announced the formation of her Transition Advisory Committee today. The Ella Baker Center is thrilled that our Executive Director, Jakada Imani will be serving on this committee as a representative of Oakland Rising. Chaired by Henry Gardner, recently retired Executive Director of the Association of Bay Area Governments and a former Oakland City Manager, the 24-member Transition Advisory Committee will be meeting over the next month and into January to recommend to the incoming mayor priorities for her first year in office.
