Green Academy Launch at Oakland Tech High School

September 3, 2009

Thirty Oakland Tech high school students are the first class of a new 3-year academy designed to add green technology to their high school curriculum. The students will learn about environmentally sound practices in design and construction skills. When these students graduate, they'll be ready for jobs in the green economy -- and anything else they want to do. Learn more about the academy at OaklandNorth.com.

Dozens of Green Tech programs are starting across the state, thanks to legislation introduced by State Senator Loni Hancock. The event was attended by students, parents and elected officials such as State Senator Loni Hancock and Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates.
