On the first day of June, more than 1,000 people attended 21 candlelight vigils throughout the East Bay in a call to stop the violence that's claiming the lives of a growing number of young people. Organized by the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights in collaboration with several community organizations, the vigils were part of a daylong Silence the Violence campaign. > more
