Hayes has been improving the way nonprofits use technology and communicate since he graduated from college. After working at a childcare center and then as a technology consultant, Hayes came on board at Ella Baker Center with the mission of reshaping the agency's technology infrastructure. Since revamping the agencies internal systems, Hayes has been working to advance Ella Baker Center’s online presence.

Hayes is an avid swimmer and a member of the board of Temescal Aquatic Masters. He lives in East Oakland where he enjoys tending his chickens, working on projects and creating solar gardens.
